Advantages of GPS System

     GPS is developed by the United States Department of Defense and officially NAVSTAR named. In the late 1950s or in the U.S. Navy in the early 1960s, satellite measurements and navigation system based on established, open to the public in 1969.

     As you already know, our location will be exposed to GPS. If you don't turn off function of location of GPS device like smart-phone and navigation. GPS technology is advancing rapidly and all of us are becoming more and more dependent on these little devices.

There are many advantages by using little devices.

     First, Do you like to go a on trip? or are you busy for business? devices, smart-phone and navigation...etc, are useful for your camping and business. Also, you can use and find these devices easily is the most advantage for you.

     Second, If you worn a GPS device on your wrist you can enhance your outdoor activities such as walking, running or cycling. These devices track your speed, distance, heart rate and calories burnt during your exercise and they can also with your applications of smart-phone.

     Third, even if you get lost, you can get know location where you are and your destination. Also, you can know where is your friends coming for meeting: By sending picture of destination.

      In conclusion, GPS System is so useful, but sometimes it is used for the purpose of the bad. So, we should control the function of applications, goverment should make the strong regulations and companies protect personal information from being used by criminals.

Navy Base In Jeju

     I agree with building navy base in Jeju. I write about it is why navy base is built in jeju is suited.

     First, If navy base is built in Jeju, It will be so useful for Korea of army. As North of Korea, Japan and China threat East of Sea and yellow Sea, a need for building rearward base is important for us. Also, our army can support from rearward and it is easy to be supported from U.S. Army. In case that war occurs, U.S. of Navy will be supported by using 7 fleet from US navy which will go the Republic of Korea. The 7 feet contains 2 aircraft carriers and several vessels. So, Our Navy base don't have enough to space for accommodating US Navy is true. It means the 7 fleet can't easily Supports and moves around South of Korea when war occurs.

     Second, Some of people believe that environment of ecosystem will be destroyed by building Navy base. But, other countries; hawaii has the biggest Navy base in the world. As you already know that There has became a nice spot of tourist and got a lot of money.

     In conclusion, I hear Republic of Korea navy is much weaker than countries. I think that Navy base in Jeju is need for protecting from other countries and that place gives native in Jeju boosting economy by using tourist spot. So I agree with building Navy base is a good idea.

Child sexual abuse( Cho Du-sun)

      After presentation about child sexual abuse in last class, I searched for article about Cho, Du-sun who is a child sexual criminal.

     When I read the article, I was so shocked. According to the article, Cho Du-sun, the evil cold-blooded child rapist, kidnapped 8-year-old Na-young, who was on her way to school in An-san, a city southwest of Seoul. He took her to a toilet in a nearby church, strangled and beat her unconscious, then raped her. He also tortured the girl in other ways. Following the attack, Na-young underwent eight hours of surgery. But it was too late. Many of her lower organs are completely dysfunctional.

     After being notified, police arrested the man. Although prosecutors sought a life sentence, the Suwon District Court sentenced him to 12 years. The court said it took into consideration that Cho was drunk, and thus was “weaker mentally and physically.” Under the Korean law, when an intoxicated person commits a crime, the court can reduce a sentence.

     This case is a small part of the problem of child sexual violence. According to one study, the number of sexual assaults and murders against children sharply increased in recent years.

     In conclusion, I think we have to reinforce punishments on sexual offenders and it is also important to improve the support system for the victims.

TIDAL power plant

     It is simple of the principle of tidal power plant. By using of ebb and tidal, it get potential energy. After that, the Potential energy shifts the kinetic energy. Fanally, the kinetic energy shifts electrical energy.This principle is simple but, the problem is that efficiency is low. So, I think tidal power plant is built has disadvantage than advantage.

     Current, in france, tidal power plant have run since 1966. It named Rance and only one tidal power plant in the world. It means any country don't try to develop tidal power plant from 40years. Other disadvantage, people who live in area of near Sea think the mud flat is value place to make money. Still, If they go to mud flat, they will get a lot of money about 100,000 per a day. So, this place is kept for fisheman making money.

     Therefore, I think government should research a way of more efficiency energy. Other sides, Environment is destoyed, we should spend much time on recovering.

     In conclusion, a need for balance between developing and ecosystem is important. I think hydroelectric power plant is suitable. Hydroelectric power plant's advantage is that cost of operation is not expensive, So there is nothing difficult on operating it. In addition, there is no carbon emissions. It is renewable energy.

I ever been to soyang-river dam for field trip in univesity. There is a very clean look and like tourist attraction spot. Other advatage is important place that if Korea rains a lot or do not rains for a long time, dam adjust the amount of water.

Prohibittion of physical punishment in school

     One teacher has to take care of many students, giving severe punishment is inevitable. So, the use of physical punishment should be allowed in Korea. However, I do not agree with this opinion because I think the physical punishment results in many troubles despite its good educational purpose.

     I would like to point out that students would learn violence from the physical punishment. The students who saw the violence in the classroom would consider using physical force as one of acceptable ways to resolve a conflict, and this would lead them to use their physical force without deep considerations.

     In my school days, I'm not a big troublemaker but I have lots of experience of physical punishment. It was not serious level, but usually I thought it's very bad way. If some students commit something wrong. and then, canning or hit them ? It is a right way? Of course, They are responsible for their own fault. but physical punishment is a just temporary expedient and unethical way I think. It is important to realize themselves. So we need more efficient system to educate right way.

     In conclusion, I would like to urge that we should ban physical punishment in the classroom because the punishment is not an efficient disciplinary action and it teaches violence to students.

Advantage of CCTV

     I think there are a lot of advantage on installing CCTV.

      First, by installing CCTV is good way of reducing theft. For example, My friend have experience with theft. When we were going to wash room, Someone took the electronic-dictionary. So, we tried to find it, but there were no CCTV in library. If there was CCTV on installing in library, Thieves was taken by CCTV and we knew who took it. And, If Thieves Knew CCTV installed in library, he didn't try that.

     Second, installing CCTV can reduce violent crimes for children and women. Recently, in Korea, there are increasing sexual attacks with children and women. However, It isn't easy that we take a measure with crimes because, this accidents occur in the night and on the street. For example, If early morning or night, the accident occurs, It is difficult who is criminal and that someone takes criminal. I think, if there are CCTV on installing on the street, we are able to make a Sufficient evidence.

     Third, by intalling CCTV, company can reduce manpower. In general, the large building with a security guard is a two-shift. However, It is difficult that man watchs the building perfectly. So, CCTV is need for watching the building and facilities. Although In my apartment, there is only two guards in front of apartment, they can monitor the whole of space.

     Finally, I think that installing CCTV is inevitable and safety life is more important. So, government should control illegal CCTV more strictly and create new laws.

Property Price In Seoul.

     First of all, in my conclusion. Seoul is now balanced with the value of land is necessary.

     In childhood, Land price of Seoul in Korea was difficult to expect. Because, It fluctuated from day to day. In the past, I remember when I lived in Seoul first time. I lived in Yeongdeungpo of Seoul. There was a lot of houses on living in Yeongdeungpo. In my memories, Exactly there was a lot of people who were poor on living in Yeongdeungpo. When I lived in Yeongeungpo, I Thought all of people would live in the same way, the same life style. Once with more age, but I knew that everyone of life was different. I felt the gap between rich and poor at the time. First time, I visited in Yoeido near station. I felt the strange world like cartoon then I saw 63 building. From then, I knew the means that Seoul divided into two parts, poor village and rich village.

     Currently, There are not high buildings as well as aging of buildings near Gang-nam station. New buildings have not been built is reason why there is expensive land to rebuild buidings. In addition, the Gang-nam is one of flood areas every summer in Seoul. However, Gangnam is one of expensive lands in Korea. I think that price of Gangnam land is like bubble price and just price of area name.

     For distant future, I think for boosting development of Seoul needs to be balanced developmet and price of land. We should eliminate the bubble price of land and the mayor of Seoul have insisted that Seoul should be needed by balancing development. Then that, we in Seoul of Korea will be better place than the past.

Personal Information Disclose

     Every day, we share personal information about ourselves with others . It is so routine that we buy something like gift, personal care goods, books, ticket, etc. But, we should know that someone steals our personal information and shares it with others, companies. As you know, this is crime. It is the best way that we should keep ours not to be distributed by criminal.

     If personal information was disclosed, you be exposed to crime. For example, I have two experiences, voice-fising and message with phone, those are the well known crime in Korea. Criminal called and sent me he said your family in danger, after that. criminal said money need for your family who are in danger. This is fake, but you believe in a moment that they were in danger, because family was important to you. Do you get the phone like voice-fishing, It should be a good way that you feel suspicious continuously. And you should talk about new type of voice-fishing to your family.

    

     In last class, I just knew security measures of personal information were different between google and others in Korea. I think google's approach of personal account is better. Because google doesn't demand any important personal information of ours and just a need for e-mail address, when you make the account.

     A need for check, before you reveal your personal information and you should use a security program that you easy to down load for free. Or, After you buy something, you should change password and remove your important information of yours.

Policy of design Seoul

     I think Design Seoul is the most best plan that bases on improving life for citizen in a very large city. Also, that plan is challenges and to solve social, environmental and public health issues. So, I am highly interested in plan.

     I think there are a lot of problems. Maybe, some people require the sacrifice because some of the vendors, who sell their item, lost their job. Of course, Government help them construct their booth, but they need a lot of money to construct their booth. So, Government should help them more than these days. When my parents came to Seoul, they also was a vendor and their sacrifices were growing me. I think government resolve this problem. On the other hand, for some people, this means enhanced employment opportunities, free exchanges of ideas, culture, enterprise and wealth.

     When I visited han-river and near Gwanghwamoon-station, I felt organised. However In childhood, I had visited them, I was lost in city. The foreigners, most of them visit the seoul first time, feel like the same thing. After design seoul project, they will take a positive view of Seoul.

     Lastly, I am highly in favor of the project, because Seoul is representative city in Korea. I feel costs a lot to do this project now. For distance future, we will be able to see well-organized Seoul. I heard that This project finished almost 80%.

4 Rivers project ( 10/18 2011)

     We talked about a presentation of 4 Rivers project, but i have never thought deeply about it and that time was impress for me.

     I exlain Simply, 4 river project is the second half of korean M.B government new deal project that can be said. 4 rivers project is to prevent the stagnation of the local economy and again get glorious history and culture for the future. Called Green New Deal, one of 4 Rivers, the core of maintenance projects, is included in Han river, Nakdong-river, Guemgang-river and Youngsan-river. Total of trillion won in 2012 is spent improving this project. It is certain that 4 Rivers project provides several benefits to making the job and boosting economic. If 4 Rivers project is successful, for near future, economic stimulus and carcity of water can be solved. However, the disadvantages may be preceded by such as national bankruptcy crisis. And the destruction of the environment to the next genneration have a great impact. Assets of next generation is kept by us, we shouldn't destruct it.

     I am in favor of improvement 4 Rivers project.

     Because, We don't have many natural resource. Although there is many economic risk, caused by this business we can boost Economic, as well as many other science and technology that we have once again given opportunity to be evaluated. In addtion, many of issuses is now, youth unemployment and the weakened economy also will be helped to boost.
